Every few years I like to pull this classic novel off my shelf, dust off the cover, and crack open the pages... and every time I find myself sucked into a darkly terrifying and twistedly romantic world of an ingenious interpretation of an ancient tale. Of course, there are hints and clues that point in the direction of Vlad the Impaler (a fascinating and dominating man) and the lore born from the rumors of his time and terrors! But, it is an absolute shivering delight to delve into the dark imaginings of a man ahead of the game... Salud! to Mr. Stoker for putting pen (and ink!) to parchment for our horrifying romantic notions and inspiring authors of our day!
